What to do about sagging skin from weight loss?

There is a down side to losing weight.

Okay. This is embarrassing. But with almost 70 pounds lost from a lifetime of being obese, I have all this sagging excess skin hanging around, particularly under my upper arms.

There’s no way biceps curls or tricep extensions are going to get rid of it. I can’t fill that much skin with muscle, no matter how much weight and how many reps. And cosmetic surgery just isn’t an option. My vanity isn’t worth the expense.

Truth told, I have sagging, fat-vacated skin all over.  Stretch marks, pregnant women call it. I got em. But shirts and shorts can cover that up.

Skin is an incredibly elastic organ. But mine isn’t shrinking. One article I read claims it will, though it may take as long as two years. Another said not to count on that happening because of age. If I was in my 20′s or 30′s, no problem. But in my 60′s… ha!

So I’m not sure what to expect.

All things considered, I guess it’s no big deal. Sagging ski is still better than being fat. Right?

I worry about the extra skin too. It’s better than being fat but I hope it doesn’t get like Adam Sandler’s huge, moveable belly flap in “Click.”

I lost a 110lbs in my mid 20′s and 10 years later, I still have saggy skin all over. I looked into surgery but my insurance wouldn’t cover it. I’m happy to be healthy and can hide it for the most part but I definitely still have some issues with it.
